As Winter Sets In On A Life
It seems like only yesterday that our family celebrated the 85th birthday of Judy's mom, Clarine. It was one of those special days when family from all over comes together to celebrate a life well lived. Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren filled the air with laughter and joy. Clarine basked in the sunshine and the excitement all around her.
At 5:00 a.m. this morning we got a call from the nursing home that Clarine is in. She had fallen out of her bed and was being taken to the E.R. Judy and her two sisters raced to the hospital and found her shaken and sporting three stitches above her right eye. X-rays showed she hadn't broken any bones and she was transported back to her room.
It's incredibly difficult to see a once vibrant Norwegian (she's VERY proud of being Norwegian) laid low by age and physical disease. Her heart is pumping at about 25% efficiency. You see, she has a leaky valve in her heart. Surgery's out of the question. She seems to be losing weight daily as she finds it hard to impossible to eat. And so we wait and watch and pray.
As we watch Judy's mom get closer to heaven we're reminded once again that life is precious and that our days are indeed numbered. But Clarine has had 87 years of a full life. She is truly a Proverbs 31 wife, mom and grandmother. Her impact on our family will never end. Please join us in praying that her transition from here to heaven is a quiet passing of a Godly woman who will once again see her husband Cecil, and a granddaughter named Mickey. We love you Clarine...
